Who are we?
The Junior Friends of the Savannas Preserve State Park is the first of its kind in the Florida Park Service. Although we are similar to a citizen support organization, all of its members are composed of youth volunteers dedicated to go above and beyond in serving their park and community. These members have responsibilities of attending monthly meetings, leading themselves, care for Education Center animals, complete housekeeping tasks, participate in invasive exotic removals, learn about the environment, gain leadership skills, and plan special events for the community.
